You don't have to keep living in the bondage of sin today. No matter what you've done—all sin can be forgiven through Jesus' sacrifice on your behalf on the cross. Being at peace with God is critical today. You don't want to leave this earth without that peace. Don't think you're smarter than God today. No one—no matter how smart you think you are, no matter how much credit you give yourself—can escape from God's wrath in the future apart from Christ. God doesn't want to have to send anyone to hell for their sins against him. Don't choose hell today. Don't choose to keep your sin today. Turn from your sin, and accept Jesus' perfect sacrifice on your behalf. He did it for you, so you can truly be free. No one is really free apart from the freedom that God offers through Christ. Oh, you may think you're free, but you haven't experienced true freedom until your in a right and everlasting relationship with God, the Creator of all things.

In closing today, perhaps you've been listening to what I've been talking about, about how the disciples were hoping for Jesus to establish his kingdom, only to find it was still far away into the future. Perhaps you can relate to the disciples. Perhaps you were hoping that something in your life would happen—or that God would do something in and through you—only to find yourself still waiting. If you'll remember, Jesus taught his disciples that they should keep praying always and never give up on prayer, and he told them the Parable of the Persistent Widow so they would remember (see Luke 18:1-8). God doesn't forget his people who are waiting. But perhaps maybe what I've said today has been new to you, or maybe you've heard it many times before, but you have never believed on Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins. God wants everyone to come to know him—no matter who you are. He offers his free gift of salvation and eternal life to whoever will believe in him. He died on the cross as your perfect substitute and rose from the dead defeating the power of sin and Satan altogether. He died for you. Jesus can set you free from your sins today, and he can also give you freedom from their stronghold.

God will give you forgiveness from your sins and a new life. This new life extends into the next in eternal life. He will be with you forever, no matter what, if you will only believe in him. If you would like to make that decision today, then what you need to do is follow my lead in this prayer. If you worried God couldn't possibly forgive you or accept you, remember God accepts anyone, and is specifically calling you today. You are precious in the sight of God. Just follow my lead, and pray this simple prayer: God, I believe that you are real, that you are the true God. I would like forgiveness for my sins which I have commit against you in my life. I believe that Jesus really did come to the earth as a human infant, and that he grew up to die on the cross for my sins, to make me right with you. I believe he rose from the dead on the third day, and that he now is in heaven with you. I surrender myself over to you. Please make me new, make me like Jesus.

So it really important to believe that Jesus came to earth as a human child, and that he grew up, and that he died on the cross for the sins of all people of all time? Because God has consigned that anyone who does not have a payment for his or her sins will be given a portion in what he calls the Lake of Fire, which was supposed to be for the devil and his angels (see Matthew 25). It is true that hell is a real, physical place, and anyone who is not right with God upon his or her death will go to that place. It is a place of constant torment, both day and night, using earthly terms. The bottom line is that eternity is like time on pause because really there is no time. It is just a constant state of being. You don't really want to be in that constant state of torment, do you? Why not believe in God because he really is God, and believe that Jesus will really save you from your sins? If you have believed what I have been saying about Jesus coming into the world, then there is hope for you today.

Well, no matter who you are, I am here to tell you today that if you will believe in this Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins, you can have peace with God, which includes eternal life with him after this life is over. Indeed, this current life will end for all us, just as it has for everyone who has ever lived. None of us has the ability to live forever here on the earth, at least not in our current bodies. When Jesus comes back the second time, and fully descends to the earth, he will setup his kingdom. Anyone who has believed in him will be with him in this new kingdom, and those who are his will be with him in the new heaven and new earth, when that time period begins. The eternal state for us as humans after this life, is more of a real place than our current lives. It is more real than what you experience today. Hell is a real, physical place, though its elements be supernatural. Likewise, heaven is a real place. And it’s a place of great joy and peace for those who go there.
