Let’s take a look a Day Six of creation: “And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.” First on Day Six, God creates the land animals—which is a vast variety of animals. He created the livestock animals, like horses, cattle, sheep, and pigs. He created other “creeping animals” like snakes, alligators, etc. He created “beasts of the earth” like the Tyrannosaurus Rex, bears, lions, and wolves. And again, everything God made he did so with a unique DNA footprint. And God saw that all of it was good, and indeed it is good. I want to take a moment here and talk about dinosaurs. According to what we just read about creation Day Six, dinosaurs had to be created on that day. This means that they lived alongside humans beings at least until the Flood of Noah.

So God created, on Day Five, all the sea creatures and birds. This includes the great sea creatures, like giant whales, dolphins, sharks, etc, and the dinosauric sea creates which we no longer see today. And God also created the birds—animals like the bald eagle, hawks, owls, and their kinds. He also created the dinosauric birds. With each and every animal, God created them with a unique, genetic code. Each of them is unique, and one cannot turn into another—as evolution proclaims. Remember, when Charles Darwin came up with his theory in the 1800s, he didn’t know DNA existed. Unfortunately for him, DNA discredits his theory. DNA is a very meticulous code found in all living things, and animals do not change from one animal into another. Every code is unique and complex to the particular living thing in question.

Genesis chapter 2, verse 5 and 6 tell us, “When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground” (ESV). So, the makeup of the earth was different back then. The waters in the sky, which the writer of Genesis, Moses, mentioned in Genesis chapter 1 and verse 7, would not break forth until the Flood of the Noah. This would be the first time it would rain on the earth—during the days of Noah.

Let’s start in Genesis chapter 1, and verse 20. This is creation Day Five: “And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day” (ESV). On Day Five, we learn that God created both sea creatures and birds. Undoubtedly, there would have been more water on the earth than land, just as there is today. We learned last time that the original setup of the world had one large piece of dry land—one continent—and one large ocean, which was everywhere the content wasn’t, obviously. Remember, too, that the setup of the atmosphere was different. It didn’t rain on the earth, as every morning a mist would come up from the ground to water the living planets and trees, which were created on Day Four.

Perhaps today you don't know God, and you feel estranged from him. Well, I have Good News for you today. You can come to know God the Creator, the One and True God, through faith in his only Son, Jesus Christ. You see, everyone is born into this world separated from God. The only way people can be reconciled to him is to believe in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. Jesus came to the earth, some 2,000 years ago, and died on a cross in order that anyone who believes in his death for sins our their behalf, may be saved from their sins. Jesus died and rose from the dead on the third day after his death. If you would like to give your life to Christ—to believe in Jesus today—then following my lead in this prayer: God, I am currently separated from you. But today, I want to come into a personal relationship with you through faith in Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus died from my sins and that he rose from the dead. I want to give my life to you today, Father, because you know what is best for me. Please change my life, and lead me, and make me become more like Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
