In order for someone to believe in God, the person has to hear a word from God. This Word which we proclaim ourselves, is Jesus Christ our Lord. He died, was buried, and rose again so that the people may have payment for their sins and be at peace with God. Paul notes in Romans 5:1, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (ESV). By Jesus's death and resurrection, people are granted salvation. When a person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, that person has a new life. The Bible tells us everything we need to know to live this new life. I have already mentioned 2 Timothy 3:16 and how the Scriptures are used by God to carry along the believer. Since God has revealed himself to us, it would then therefore make sense that God has instructions for us. Jesus himself throughout his earthly ministry taught many teachings, obviously, which believers today live by. The Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 through 7 give us a great deal of information about how life is to be lived for the Christian.
