Isaiah 52:13 says, “Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.” If you take a step back for a minute, and you try to understand why Jesus came to the earth, you will realize that the problem is with us, humans. Looking at Jesus’ first coming from God’s perspective, we realize that the whole reason Jesus had to come to the earth and die on the cross in the first place was because of the mistakes we’ve made, the sins we’ve committed against God. We, as humans collectively, were separated from God, and the only way to live a life pleasing to God was to follow the Old Testament Law. But Jesus came and made it possible for us to live in true freedom, away from the dominate pull of sin in our lives. He allowed us to live lives that honor and worship God, and this in spirit and truth.
