Mark 16:9-13: “Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them” (Mark 16:9-13, ESV). Now after Jesus had risen from the dead, Mark’s account then discusses the fact that Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene. She was the first human to see Jesus actually risen from the dead. Now, the angel in the tomb had told the women that he had risen, and Mary was with them, but they had not seen Jesus. So, John tells us she was outside weeping over Jesus’ body being gone. So, she walked over to the tomb, and when she stooped in to look, she saw the angels apparently again (unless you couple this event with the women seeing the angels earlier).
