Nevertheless, in a way that perhaps we cannot understand, these fallen angelic beings have been prepared for a mass slaughter of human beings here on the earth. Since they have been currently bound, perhaps due to their gross violence and wickedness, God is going to have them released so they can accomplish his will.
Along with these angel leaders are a whole army of fallen angels, perhaps demons that are currently unbound, and he tells us their number is “twice ten thousand times ten thousand.” So, 10,000 times 10,000 is a 100,000,000 and two times that is 200,000,000. That’s how many fallen angels are in this army. And, he goes to show that this number is not a mistake by adding the phrase here, “I heard their number.” John’s saying, “I’m not joking folks.” That’s an enormous amount of demonic beings.
